A 5-Month Volunteer Recruiting Overhaul for Your Ministry or Church
Volunteer Recruiting Team Coaching is a five-month “all hands” collaborative project for the Kids, Youth, or NextGen Staff team. Over the five months, the whole ministry volunteer process and systems will get a full review and reboot to ensure efficient and synchronized operations.
This Coaching consists of an onsite visit by Kenny Conley and/or Nick Blevins as well as coaching calls before and after to help your staff implement everything successfully.
Calls consist of two types:
- Core Team Calls - Campus Directors, Pastors, and Key Ministry Decision Makers
- Cross-Functional Teams Calls - We’ll help establish four cross-functional teams that will tackle specific projects impacting the entire ministry. We’ll have separate calls with each team.
Process for Volunteer Recruiting Coaching:
Over the five months, we will set out to accomplish three things:
- Fully reboot your volunteer systems. We’ll help your team build a working system that can be duplicated across every campus and ministry area, ensuring everyone follows the same processes. This ensures that EVERY new volunteer will have a consistent experience regardless of their area of ministry. We will synchronize all job descriptions, applications, interviews, organization structures - the whole thing.
- Fully train all staff in EFFECTIVE Volunteer Recruitment Strategies. We will help your staff build a team culture around volunteer recruiting best practices. We will help you set realistic expectations and transparency around the recruitment, training, and care of all ministry volunteers.
- Lead your teams through a three-month volunteer recruiting campaign. We’ll train your team in recruitment strategies as we help them implement these strategies for the first time. We’ll help you grow your overall volunteer headcount, increase your volunteer frequency (moving every other week volunteers to weekly volunteers), and build a team of coaches to help you better care for your volunteer teams.
Coaching Timeline
Below is a tentative timeline for the coaching process:
- PHASE ONE: Pre-In-Person Training Calls (3 separate calls)
- PHASE TWO: In-Person Training (Four 90-minute sessions with your staff teams)
- PHASE THREE: Systems Building (3 Separate Calls)
- PHASE FOUR: Assisting Your Volunteer Recruiting Campaign (5 separate calls)
Outcomes:
- Create a ministry-aligned volunteer system (roles, documents, processes)
- Establish an aligned volunteer leadership structure across all ministries
- Identify the exact volunteer need across all areas of NextGen
- Assist your team in growing your volunteer team by 25-35%
Conclusion:
When coaching ends, we'll do a final wrap-up and evaluation - giving you the next steps to keep systems and processes moving forward. You'll now have the tools and experience to continue this volunteer recruiting process.
